Remember....

I was thinking the other day about being pregnant. Does anyone have pictures of when Susie was here with her cute little belly (when she was pregnant with Sarah)? I remember being at the church for some function (maybe their going away) and there were pictures being taken of a bunch of you cute girls. How many years ago was that?

Hot, Fat, & just want to snap my fingers to make something happen...

I don't seem to be on the internet much these days. Today is was over 100 degrees which makes my house at least 80 if I keep it all shut up. My basement is nice accept that there seems to be high humidity down there and so we have a mildew problem that we are trying to figure out. We just bought a dehumidifier (crazy to think of in Montana) that seems to be helping. Mike put in for a cross train in something that I don't really know much about it accept that he will need a top secret security clearance and so that means that they can't tell us much about the job. I am kind of ready to do something new. I really feel that God is pulling my heart away from my home. If you would have asked me 6 months ago to sell my house I would have told you no way! But I am ready. Base housing is looking really good right now (especially if it has AC). I don't really like living in limbo or wondering what I should do. When I set my mind to something I just want to do it and begin the new adventures. Just like my house. I am ready to just put it on the market sell it and move on to base. Just with a snap of my fingers. Well the wait to move on base is 6-9 months and there is no way that I can show my house to complete strangers in the form that it looks in. Let alone the unfinished basement that just needs a few more hours and it will be done. So I guess this is just my lesson in learning how to be content in every situation.

Welcome to the latest pictures of the Glathar family. The other night Mike and I had a date and we went and took this really cute picture so I had to share. As you can see God is expanding our family to 4! We are so excited. Once again our friends on the other side of the world are expecting #2 right there with us. The Rhodes baby is due only 7 days after us. Congratulations Jeremy & Laura Beth!

Life Happened...

I realize it has been over a month since I have posted. Lets see... We got our carpet in our basement and I almost have it all set up and I found mildew. I was wondering what that strange smell was. So we are doing a lot more cleaning. We went camping. Our 4th of July consisted of 4 BBQs. My daughter, Sarah, is growing like a weed. So I think that I just need to relax. I just bought new mugs to go with my Simple Additions set. Anyone care to join me for girl talk....

My mom and grandma have been asking me all week what I am going to post for today. Well...here they are from zappos.com. I like them alot! Not sure that I would spend the 50 some dollars for them but Amber says that we are allowed to dream on Thursdays. I don't have a lot of shoes let alone sassy ones. Have a wonderful Thursday!

We all have one...

You know those deep junk drawers that you never know what you are going to find in them and what random stuff is in there. Well... I was really excited when I cleaned out my junk drawer the other day. I found this... Now I have some additions to my scrapbooking collection.

Well, these shoes aren't that sassy but I do have to say that they are very comfortable. All the carpet in my house consists of area rugs (hopefully that will be changing soon) so these slippers are good for keeping my feet warm. The other thing I really like about these fuzzies is when I am mopping the floor they do not leave footprints.

A Beautiful Montana Sunset

For Mother's Day we went out to my parents house. At their church service they honored the Seniors (my brother is graduating on Sunday). Then they had a baccalaureate service that evening. On our way home we saw this beautiful sunset of the Rockies. I love the mountains. Doesn't this just make you miss MT, Jeremy & LB?!

I did a little reasearch and thought that you might enjoy this little piece of history...

The earliest Mother's Day celebrations can be traced back to the spring celebrations of
ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods. During the 1600's,
England celebrated a day called "Mothering Sunday". Celebrated on the 4th Sunday
of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter), "Mothering Sunday" honored the
mothers of England. During this time many of the England's poor worked as
servants for the wealthy. As most jobs were located far from their homes, the
servants would live at the houses of their employers. On Mothering Sunday the
servants would have the day off and were encouraged to return home and spend the
day with their mothers. A special cake, called the mothering cake, was often
brought along to provide a festive touch.

As Christianity spread throughout Europe the celebration changed to honor the
"Mother Church" - the spiritual power that gave them life and protected them
from harm. Over time the church festival blended with the Mothering Sunday
celebration . People began honoring their mothers as well as the church.
In the United States Mother's Day was first suggested in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe
(who wrote the words to the Battle hymn of the Republic) as a day dedicated to
peace. Ms. Howe would hold organized Mother's Day meetings in Boston, Mass every
year.
In 1907 Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, began a campaign to establish a
national Mother's Day. Ms. Jarvis persuaded her mother's church in Grafton, West
Virginia to celebrate Mother's Day on the second anniversary of her mother's
death, the 2nd Sunday of May. By the next year Mother's Day was also celebrated
in Philadelphia.Ms. Jarvis and her supporters began to write to ministers,
businessman, and politicians in their quest to establish a national Mother's
Day. It was successful as by 1911 Mother's Day was celebrated in almost every
state. President Woodrow Wilson, in 1914, made the official announcement
proclaiming Mother's Day as a national holiday that was to be held each year on
the 2nd Sunday of May.
While many countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day at different

times throughout the year, there are some countries
such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium which also
celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May.

Finally

I told you that when I got my pictures off my camera I would post a picture of Sarah in her Easter dress. Well, here she is. I can tell that I really don't have the knack for picture taking. I took Sarah out at my Grandma's house to take some pictures in the grass (even though it was REALLY cold) and I see that I have all of the cars in the background. I wish that I had an editing program I would try to take them out but I guess they will have to do. If any of you incredible photographers have some tips for me I could use some of your wisdom.

Sassy Shoe Thursday

These are my very worn sassy shoes for today. When I was in college at Eastern Washington University in Spokane, WA my freshman year I had an incredible roomate, Kimmy, that was a tennis player. One trip that she took to California she brought me back these really fun sandals. I have worn them a lot. Thanks Kimmy!

As you can tell it has been a while since I have been on here. My little brother, Cameron, is graduating from High School in two weeks. I have family coming to stay with us and so we are trying to finish our basement before they get here. We have been ripping out molding and mudding and taping currently. I have picked out carpet and I am just patiently waiting for it to be finished. I will post pictures of before and after when I am done.

Flashback Friday: Girls just wanna have fun

When the guys would leave town. Laura Beth and I would make sure to have a girls night. We would always seem to have fun and stay up late. This night in particular we died hair. Jennifer Morgan came over to my house and we died Laura Beth, Summer and Mara's hair. I can't remember if anyone else was done. This was a very memorable night.

Sarah Snyder, RN, BSN

I want to tell you about one of the most important people in my life. Sarah has been a wonderful friend for a long time. We met at college at Eastern Washington University. Our first semester we took a couple classes together. We really did not spend a whole lot of time together while I was there for college. We had different friends and different schedules other than classes. Once I moved to Great Falls Sarah was really supportive in what I was doing here. She kept up with me and we have just kept in contact for many years now. I would occasionally go to Spokane to visit and we would go to concerts like Audio Adrenaline and we always have to eat places like Red Robin and Tomato Street. She has had a major influence in where I am with the Lord now. She was the maid of honor in my wedding. She was a huge blessing to me in this area. Sarah has made us two beautiful quilts: one for Mike & I when we got married and one for little Sarah. She has come to visit me a few times. Last June she came and we went to Glacier Park. It was so much fun for her to see Gods beautiful creation with me. When it came to naming my daughter, Sarah, it was exciting to name her after my best friend that is so faithful, has a heart of gold, and has a contagious love for the Lord. I pray that my little Sarah would follow in her footsteps. Last month she came and saw us for a week. We made sure to treat her to her favorite restaurants: MacKenzie River Pizza, Fuddruckers, and Wheat Montana. We had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship. This is to an amazing woman of God who has completed nursing school and has now gotten a job at Sacred Heart Medical Center on the neurology floor. Welcome to the big world. Thanks for being such a wonderful friend!

I completely agree with Laura Beth, I think that I am going to have to plan some bigger family festivities for Easter next year. How about dying some eggs... I am sure that it will be fun with Sarah being over a year and half to have an Easter egg hunt.

Journey

It has been a while since I have written on here. Life... well... GFCC is getting ready to host a big conference so I have spent some time at the church praying for that. This past week my best friend Sarah Snyder came and visited me for the week. More to come about that fabulous time. Monday Sarah, my mom, and I are leaving for Texas for two weeks. We are going to move my grandma into a senior apartment complex. We are praying that God will help us get everything done and also sell her house soon. I am so excited for her. So if I am not around for a while that is why. I will let you know when I am back and stories about my trip.
