Do you?

Mike & I were talking on our way home from shopping about dancing. He knows that I can jitter bug. I asked him if he would ever want to learn. He is still thinking about it...

Do you know how to jitter bug? If so, who did you learn from? If not, would you like to learn?

My new home...

I moved on to base mid-July (the day before Mike left for training) and have been slowly trying to get things put away. I have gone to Missoula for over a week and brought my grandma back to help me with the kids. I also spent 10 days in Wyoming with my mom's family. All of that said it has taken me a while to get things put away and decorate. I was really getting tired of my white bare walls and so Laura Beth and Stacy came over on Tuesday and we did a little decorating. Since I have finished the BIG job and so I would share. I am sure that it is not everyone's style but I am very proud of my creation. It looks a lot better in person so if you would like to take a look, lets have coffee...

The traveler

I am currently in Missoula just hanging out. My best friend Sarah met me in Missoula for the weekend and a few days. We have had a blast together eating and eating and hanging out with the kiddos and remembering the times at EWU. We also went to the Mercy Me concert here in Missoula and it was great. We also saw Need to Breathe. Very good! I will post pictures later...

Just a little...

Well... where do I start. Our house still has not sold but we are somewhat moved on base. We got a base house the day before Mike left for training. It has been two weeks I am still trying to unpack, move, take care of the kids, two houses, two lawns, the dog, and try to have some sanity myself. Sarah is in a toddler bed and seems to be doing well. Cory is in his crib now and not in the pack-n-play in our room but he is waking every 2-4 hours a night. This mommy is sleepy! Here is a snapshot of the pictures that Christel took of our family. There are more here!

Flashback

The other day I was talking to my mom on the phone while I was sewing. I told her that I needed to get that machine serviced. She was explaining to me that she got that machine in 1981 or 1982 after my dad got a motorcycle. Not sure if this is the one that he got at that time but I ran across this picture and thought that I would share.

It has been really hot here and we have been staying at Doug & Stacey Bradley's while they are on vacation so that our house can be shown when it needs to and we can take care of their animals. I was just telling Mike that I wanted to go take a shower but was afraid that we would loose electricity. He gave me a strange look. What I forgot was that I was in town now where we don't have pumps. It is hard to break things that you have known for 20 some years.

Prayer...

Here is what is going on at the Glathars. Our house is still on the market. Please pray for a buyer soon. We have a base house for us but we cannot afford to move into it until we have sold our house.

Mike is deploying. He is leaving mid-July for training and then he will be back in October for a couple weeks. He will be leaving mid-October for 6 months.

Cory is being fussy and I am still not able to eat much that does not bother him. Sarah is being a difficult child to discipline. Not to mention I am sure that the stress that is going on in our house is not helping either of these situations.

Thanks!

Question of the week...

I am sitting here with a nice cup of hot tea reading my friends blogs and want to know... If I could serve you your favorite drink what would it be?

Bumps in the road

We are definitely in the training stages of Sarah's life. Lots of disciplining going on at the Glathars. I need some advice from you moms that have been there done that. I think that it is finally time (at 20 months) to wein Sarah of her pacifier. I am not sure how to do it and I am running into her stealing Cory's as I have not allowed her to have it accept at bed time.

Also, What about potty training? I think that Sarah is interested I just don't know where to start or what to do. Please give this mother some advice...

Cute cards!

How many of you have seen Susie's card example under "Got Stamps"? I really liked this idea and I decided to try one of my own and it turned out kind of cute so I had to share....

Update time...

So here is the news. First of all you need to go to my baby update page and check out the cute babies that have been born lately. Mike broke my camera rafting but I am still able to kind of take some pictures. I am praying for a new on of those soon too!!

Here are some of the flowers blooming in my yard. The lilacs, the apple tree, and the tulips (that one is for you Suzanne). Obviously my house has not sold yet. We are still living out of boxes. I am still praying that it sells soon but God knows when, where, and how much longer.

Cory is 4 months old today and is growing way to fast. Check out our family pictures for more updates on my kiddos!

For those of you who knew that I have been having problems with my back. Since I was first pregnant with Cory. A month ago I finally had x-rays and an MRI. My x-rays were normal but my MRI showed a tear in my lower back in a disk and some arthritis in my neck. I am going to physical therapy now and feel a lot better.

Not much else exciting. We have lots of plans for camping and such this summer. May is filled full already. Mike is taking me to Helena for the weekend and we are going to do some outdoors stuff on Saturday and then we are going to have dinner with my family Sunday evening. Happy Mothers Day to all you beautiful, spontaneous mothers out there!

Next weekend is Women of Faith in Billings. I am going with my mom and aunt this year. Hopefully Cory will cooperate with me. I am sure that Mike will have lots of plans for Memorial Day weekend but that is to come later.

I hope and pray that you all are doing well...

signing off...

Spring fever...

I obviously have spring fever. I have flowers on my mind. I love flowers. Daisies are one one of my favorites. I also really like hydrangeas. I really don't know what it is about these flowers that I really like but I think that they are clean and crisp and they just bring cheer to my face. What is your favorite flower and why?

Living today as if it were your last....

I have been thinking for a few weeks now how I am living my day today as if it were my last. We are not promised tomorrow but we always make plans. Now if we really lived like that there would be a lot of people that would not work and we would not accomplish a whole lot but we are called to be in the work place to spread the Gospel of Christ. How are you living your life today as if it were your last? You are not promised tomorrow. Like the massacre and just doing your daily routine and getting killed. Or in a car accident. Or getting cancer. You name it.... I am not trying to be morbid or negative just making you think what are you doing today for Jesus that would leave a legacy if you do not get tomorrow....

How true...

I read this on one of my friends web sites and really liked it and thought that I would share. How true is this...

Cindy Sheehan asked President Bush, "Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"

Another mother asked President Kennedy, "Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"

Another mother asked President Truman, "Why did my son have to die in Korea?"

Another mother asked President F.D. Roosevelt, "Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"

Another mother asked President W. Wilson, "Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France?"

Yet another mother asked President Lincoln, "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"

And yet another mother asked President G. Washington, "Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge?"

Long, long ago, a mother asked, "Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"

The answers to all these are similar – "So that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness, and freedom."

If you feel as though you cannot stand behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them!

Missoula we miss you...

Here are a few pictures of while we were in Missoula. We flew my brother, Cameron, up for 10 days and Eric came for the weekend and so we got a picture. Sarah got a new trike from Grandma and Papa. The mall in Missoula has a fun play area and so Sarah had a blast playing there. I got to do a little shopping and a little scrapbooking but it was really nice to be in a different envionment for a little while. Please pray that our house will sell soon. I am really tired of living in this half-packed place.

What Hat Are You?

As you can see I took the hat quiz that Amber and Angela posted. I am not much of a hat girl (nor clothes or shoes or anything really girly). I can't say that I have ever tried on a hat like this one. I might have to and take a picture. Not sure that I would spend money on one though. Have a great day girls...
